More Than Music

What’s more than music? Absolutely nothing and everything. Everything you can see, touch, even taste is music. Drip, drip, drip, the kitchen faucet is dripping. Crunch, crunch, crunch, someone is eating chips. Shhhhhhhh, the trees are rustling. Like I said, music is everywhere. Now where did it come from? Is it from all those many hundreds, and thousands of years ago?

It is said that music started somewhere in Africa, and from there on, it evolved. Old instruments made from ivory, and animal bone were made. Can you imagine that all those times a person heard a pattern in the wind, nature and more? From the ancient times till the start of 0 B.C. There was a way to express yourself, a more meaningful way. It was more than music.

When you listen to the radio you hear a whole variety of music. Classical, Rock, Pop, Country and so much more. Did you ever stop and think 110 years ago people decided to go slow and fast all at the same time. Jazz, and blues were a whole new level of a whole new generation. Full of thoughts and feelings crammed into one song or piece of music. So many people have seen, and learnt about Rock, which was introduced in 1940. Another genre, Country, was introduced in 1910 but didn’t really captivate people until 1920.

If it wasn’t for famous people like, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong, Michael Jackson, or even Beethoven, we wouldn’t be who we are today without it. In fact, if you didn’t know, he was deaf but he still continued to make music in his career.

There is so much to say about music, but to discover more about it, press the button for the radio in your car. You can also look up Oldies music on your device. Maybe even start an instrument of your own. Music comes in all shapes, sizes and forms.

“Music is a language that doesn’t speak in particular words. It speaks in emotions, and if it’s in the bones, it’s in the bones.” ― Keith Richards
