A Troop Service Project

Recently there has been a big outbreak of the Coronavirus. Well, I’m not going to be talking too much about that. I’m going to be talking about what we can do to help.

Only a couple weeks ago, a company called Lockheed Martin, an Aerospace and defense company had decided to donate some of their resources. They are using plastic 3D printers to mold visors. Now what do I mean by “visors”? I mean face shields. What Lockheed Martin is doing is making the headband part and distributing them for people to file down and make safe and comfortable. Lockheed Martin is making about 500 plastic visors a week. Once they are done, these headbands will be given to Medical First Responders in Santa Clara county.

Troop 220 is participating in this fantastic opportunity of a service project. The members of Troop 220 are working hard to get 100 headbands in the past week done! In the process they are helping first responders, getting service hours, and serving the community.

Everyone who is participating in this project should be proud. We thank each and everyone of you scouts who participated in this service project.
